Earthquakes in Black Sea and Bingöl cause alarm, no deaths
Two earthquakes struck Turkey on Sunday morning, causing alarm but no loss of life, Cumhuriyet newspaper said.
A 4.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded off the Black Sea at 05:31 a.m., the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) said. The earthquake was 182 kilometres from the northern province of Bartın's Amasra district and was 12 kilometres deep.
A 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in the district of Karlıova in the eastern province of Bingöl at 09:38 a.m., AFAD said.
The earthquake, which took place at a depth of seven kilometres, was felt in Bingöl city centre as well as in Batman, Siirt, and Tunceli.
